Virtual Therapy for the Soul: MAY YOU BE BLESSED

I was going to post a thing today about this painful, ugly, gut-wrenching family drama I'm currently embroiled in. I've been really agonizing over how to deal with it and I was thinking that I'd call on my blogging family to help me sort it out. The post was full of venom and anger, evoking only hurtful thoughts and potentially unhealable damage. Then my wonderful email friend, Margie, sent me this. As I watched and listened, the anger melted away from my soul and was replaced with something new. Something calm. Something warm and comforting.

I'm going to rework my post (yes, I still want your advise and input) and get it out sometime in the next few days. For now, though, I'd like to share this with you. You may have seen it before, but I'd really like you to take a moment to watch it one more time and really consider reevaluating something in your life that is ugly, hurtful, or painful. I'm praying that you, too, can begin to let go of that hurt and pain, and in so doing...

  1. Two writing rules I live by:

    1. Never put anything into writing you don't want others to read. No matter how private you think it is, someone may see it.

    2. The 24 hour rule. Always put something away for 24 hours and then come back to it and read it again, after you have had a chance to calm down. (Abe Lincoln always did this.)

I think it's great you've decided to rethink how the issue is written. It is always best to keep it objective as possible. God bless and I'm keeping you in my prayers that you will find peace and strength to deal with this ordeal.

  2. That was beautiful to watch, and I'm glad it brought you peace.
I'm so sorry you're going through hell at the moment. Keeping you in my heart. Hugs.

  3. Writing things out always helps me get things off my chest even if I never show it to the person I wanted to send it to. The great thing about an email is you can type it out and never hit the Send key.

I hope we are able to help you.

Love the video and something I needed to see today. Thank you.

  4. Deb - you are soooo right! I have now gone back and deleted it completely. As AZ mom said, writing it out seemed to take the wind out of its sails.

Dragonstar - thanks for the prayers. I guess it's true what a friend of mine always says: When you can't change your circumstances - change your heart.

xoxo and happy valentines to all!

  6. I'm glad time was able to temper some of the anger and hurt. Good for you for being open-minded enough to let it happen!

  7. First, thank you so much for reading my new blog, and then, sweet you, posting on it too.

I've actually been reading your blog for a while now, but kept in the wings.

When I came over to say thank you and I saw this lovely video. Thank you so much. It was just what I needed today - things are going kind of ^#&@! for me today. But I feel much calmer and peaceful now - at least for the next 20 munutes, until I have to. Go. And. Get. The. KiDs. (((@@)))

  8. PS> I love your little comment after I hit the publish button. May I copy it or put something similar (very similar) on my page? Please?

Of course I don't know HOW to put it on the page, but if I can, in my computer-induced haze, figure out how to do it, can I?
